Open Coffees are an opportunity to sit down with one our city’s most impacting and influential people. You’ll hear their personal story and perhaps ask that key question that might inspire a new idea for you! All events are free and open to the public.

Join us Jan 9th for Open Coffee with Amanda McGill Johnson, Strategic Initiatives and Community Impact Director at the Nebraska Children’s Home Society. Prior to that, she served as a Nebraska State Senator from 2007-2015. Elected at the age of 26, she was the second youngest women to ever elected into the Nebraska Legislature. During her 8 years in office, she was a champion of a number of child welfare and women’s health issues.

Amanda has bachelors degrees in Broadcasting and Political Science from the University of Nebraska Lincoln and began her career as a television reporter. She has also served as District Director and Interim Chief of Staff to Congressman Brad Ashford. She and her husband Clayton are new parents having welcomed baby Po into the world in February.
